We're On for 2004!
I re-established contact with the management at the Hyatt Newporter Inn earlier today. We will tentatively block 25 rooms for 2 nights (Friday and Saturday nights, July 30 and 31). And after reading Wendy's notes last year, that number will likely be increased to 35. As for events throughout the weekend, we'll do basically the same thing at the hotel as in previous years; Friday evening (or early Saturday morning) get together at a meeting room, poolside luncheon, late evening socialing at our meeting room, and Sunday brunch. Activities away from the hotel will be the harbor cruise and Saturday evening dinner. And we can't forget shopping for the women at Fashion Island Saturday afternoon, outdoor activities along the Newport Backbay, and Sunday morning golf tournament. Details later.
Aunt Ann, Many thanks for giving the "go-ahead" to do the reunion. We'll be communicating with you directly re: menu and activity approvals, budget requirements, etc.
As an aside, on Saturday evening aboard the boat we'll celebrate Amy's 90th birthday with cake and beverage. Boy, what a milestone to acknowledge!!
